Can someone help me find a new hobby?

23 May

I waste a lot of time on facebook and youtube and I’m looking for a new hobby that doesn’t cost much. Oh and it has to be something I can do in the winter. Any suggestions would be great!

cooking is always fun, learning how to knit, or crochet, making candles (i make gel candles that are much easier and cleaner to make than wax), or scrapbooking.

Welcome to the wonderful world of crafts! Beading, decoupage, origami, felting, quilting, weaving, cross-stitching, crocheting, knitting, sewing… you name it!

I vote for knitting. It’s very relaxing and there are a lot of good free instructional videos on the net.

The best thing to do it actually to go to a local art store. The ladies are friendly, and they will understand your lack of knowing what you what to do. I’m sure they will show you what’s possible, and you can pick something that appeals. to you. I also think making jewelery is fun. You can buy a bulk of beads of cheap, and make so many varieties of things. If you aren’t afraid of endurance, the are so many state and national parks that you can climb mountains at. It takes up time, helps you to get healthy, and it’s so worth climbing to see the view from atop. And don’t worry, you can do it in the winter for you will keep warm by keeping your body in motion. You won’t even realize it’s cold, except maybe your runny nose :)

You could learn how to knit or crochet. Once you know how, you can make scarves, hats, mittens, socks, purses….alot of stuff!!! This is what I do over the winter and it keeps me busy, so hopefully this will give you some ideas. I also tried beading for the first time, and it is really fun too! Hope this gives you some ideas.
