if i am not working i tend to go to the pub with my friends and drink lots and i mean LOTS of beer. i am 30 years old i work quite A lot and holiday to Thailand often. i am learning to speak Thai already, but would really like to stay out of the pub! i go to the gym already also but these things only take an hour or so….. when i go to the pub i am in there for 12 hours. i need a time consuming hobby! anyone have any ideas?

30 years ago, my grandma’s best friend had [only] 21 cats. The whole house stunk, and some of the cats always made a mad dash for the front door every time it opened. She had no kids. I wonder whatever became of her after my grandma died.
These women have the same “hobby”. What’s the deal?

It can be any time of the year….For me it is cool weather, so I hunt…..I just shot my first Turkey a few weeks ago and now Deer season starts in 2 weeks…..In December or January once the ice is thick enough, we start ice fishing….I also enjoy going fishing from the boat in the warmer months…….But these things keep me moving outside during the cold months…….
I do not want to offend anyone that does not agree with hunting, it is just something we do and we also eat what we kill or catch……

I think skateboarding is a cool hobby, but I never been skateboarding before. But why do we keep taking it away from those who loves their hobby so much. It’s not like they are trying to commit crimes.

I have 137k in ARM mortgage which is presently at 4.375% will go up in August 2008. Presently I have $105 k in Vanguard Prime MM AC earning 5.14%. Also approximately $250 k in other stock funds. and 15 k in bank checking.
I am 40 years old, two small kids . both wife and I work in mid-range jobs and bring about 240k a year together. Don’t have expensive hobbies, however do take vacations once a year and live under our means. Combined retirement accounts are over $600k. The assets listed above are non retirements accounts. Kids education accounts & special needs trust have over 50k

My mother suffers from manic depression and adult ADD.
She used to do scrap booking and I saw a huge difference in her personality during that time. I think it is due to the concentration on one task that keeps her from thinking so much on other “problems” she creates in her life.
Any ideas for hobbies for a woman 48 years old? She is done with scrap booking because she basically did everything she could do with all our family pictures, and honestly, I think she got bored with it.

My parents have a hexagon shaped tank in their house and they stock it with fish that never seem to live as long as they should. I would like my parent’s tank to be the best that it can be for the shape that it is and when I learn knew things I pass on the information to them. I’ve been interested in the art of fish keeping and aqua gardening for about a year now and I’ve learned a great deal since I first started the hobby. I was thinking about the aquarium at my parents house and I wonder what species of fish would thrive best in a hexagon shaped aquarium because I know its a very unnatural shape for the aquarium environment. Do you know of any fish that wouldn’t mind living in a tall hexagon aquarium? Please also tell me if you have any of these fish, how old they are, and if they’ve grown since you first got them.

I am diagnosed with OCD, and this may have something to do with this. Every time a get interested in a new hobby, I always switch to either an entirely new hobby or a past hobby. How can I organize myself so that I can either keep up with all of my hobbies or just stay with the ones I know I would like to stick to?
Can anyone recommend an online hobby or involved game to keep me from my online gambling habit?

PLEASE do not suggest some self-help site.. I’m looking for either a game (for grown-ups obviously) or hobby.. something interesting to keep me occupied. Maybe like a Dungeons & Dragons sort of thing, or scavanger hunt, etc. Definitely something on-going involved. I hope I’m making sense.
