I want to do this course at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts in downtown, but the problem is, I have no way to get there. I’M going to pay full tuition (my mom doesn’t like the fact that I don’t want to be a doctor)…and I asked my mom and her boyfriend if they would be able to take me…my mom said that she didn’t think her boss would let her get off at 3:30 (the class is from 4:30-6:00)every Wednesday for two and a half months (and if he[her boss] did, she’d have to give up getting out of work at four every Friday for TWO 1/2 MONTHS. Boo stinkin’ hoo[sorry])….and I asked her boyfriend, and he said that it would be impossible for him..and I can understand THAT…he has a very fluctuating work schedule…so I need some other ways to get to the Hobby Center (Houston) every Wednesday (my mom could at least pick me up) safely and on time….who are some ppl that I could ask…or what kind of public transportation could I take?
I need to get to downtown Houston from Northwest Houston.

Im 19 to begin with and i still live with my parents. Im from india living in uk and as you can imagine that my parents are very strict! I have already waisted 3 years of my time listening to them and i really regreat it today. I have been doing nursing course for them because it looks good and has good money but i have no intreast in this job at all!!
I would like to become a graphic designer because i have good skills on visualisation and art but they think this is just a hobby and will not get me nywhere in future. They just dont seem to understand what i want in my life..and it really hurts me. But they always expect too much from me like get qualification degree for nursing etc and do the job and live life happily ever after. ..Im not perfect and i have my own life to live not theires..even my teacher is saying that im not doing well in the course and i dont have the motivation to do it. Its true i dont..
Im just very sick and sad…i feel like im still a child even though im 19, they dont give me my sense of independence and choice..Im not even allowed to have social life/go out late night or have a boyfriend? Its almost like living in a prison..i wish someone could just take me away and show me the meaning of life.
I had been staying up the whole night yesterday till 3am..thinking about my life and what i want and i have finally made a decision to do art and follow this route because i cant do nursing job for money if i dont enjoy it from the heart.
Now the problem is that when they find this out, they are gonna blow up and there is gonna be tantrums and hassels..
i know that graphic designing job is really complicated and competitive but i know if i work hard i can do it. So i believe in myself ..why cant they?
what should i do? do a job that i hate to but has good money or follow my passion and do a job that il enjoy.
thanks sorry it was bit long..please give me good answers.
Can I model as a hobby without my parent’s help?
Can I model as a hobby without my parent’s help?
I’m 13 years old, 5 ft 6, and 11 pounds. My parents wouldn’t want to make too much of an effort to help me become a model, as they don’t approve of modeling as a career. Is there any way I could start a small career with the help of my 18 year old sister, and preferably not too much money or time?
What gift is best for my parents to show my Great Appreciation??
I am 26 years old and about to graduate from pharmacy school. My parents are the only reason this was made possible, as they have allowed me to live in their house rent free. They have slipped me that extra 20 bucks when I needed it for my bills. My mom has even stayed up until 1 am just to make me coffee and a snack so I could stay up all night and study. Their support has extraordinary, and my dream is only becoming a reality because of them.
I have just signed a contract to work in a hospital starting in June with a 120k salary. I have no kids, so for me alone this amount is huge. I want to show my parents my appreciation in buying them a huge graduation gift. What are some ideas? I’d like to spend about 5-10k. Vacation or what? They are simple folk, no real hobbies
why don’t kids follow their parents hobbies?
if a parent loves to sing and dance, they would usually ask their kids to do it too or teach it to them. well, i was wondering how come sometimes kids don’t follow their parents and have no interest in what their parents are interested in. just like if your dad was an amazing football player..he would want his son to be one too right?
Why do my parents hate all of my hobbies?
I love to sk8. ( skateboarding) the only tyhing is im a girl who is 16 n my rents say im not a average 16 year old girl. am i weird? i llike alot of different things then a average 16 year old girl.
Thoughts on a 42 yo male who buys parents’ home with older sister and prefers that he and his wife live there?
This is his solution of being able to save $, having more disposable income to buy more toys that contribute to hobbies that doesn’t really include his 35 yo wife of three years. The wife prefers that they move out on their own and live apart from the sister, but the husband insists on this way of living. Initially into the marriage, he said it was temporary, but wife is led to believe that the arrangement is indefinite. She doesn’t think this is healthy and feels that husband doesn’t have his priorities right and that any husband in his right mind (esp of this age) should want to live apart from in-laws. The husband makes more than enough $ to buy a place or at least, live on their own, but continues to splurge on needless things that don’t support their marital union and is an extension of the single life he doesn’t appear to be able to give up. Also, he insists on remaining friends with old female co-workers and other females (best friend’s wife) whom his wife isn’t friends with.
Oh, and the husband’s older sister tags along on the couple’s dates because the husband always invites her!
This question was being asked on behalf of a co-worker who wanted to get others’ input on a situation. And the sister is the husband’s sibling, not the wife’s!
