I pay all the bills though both of us contribute to the household income. The item in question is on discount and because it is part of their hobby. It is not something that is needed in the home as they already have a smaller one but just WANT it because it is bigger. and on sale. I was asked if they could buy it I said no and now they are mad at me. I told them that we need other items at this time and the money should go for that. Why do they do that? Why ask at all?

Why do rich people invest when they are already rich?

Obviously I’m not rich or I would not be asking, but I have been reading a lot about International political economy (IPE) in college. Everyone around me seems to understand why people invest, where foreign direct investment comes from, and how to live without working. What is to prevent industrialized governments (especially the hegemon) from seizing assets from foreign investors and redistributing them to their population? I come from a modest background, so the only investments folks had growing up were their homes or their restored cars. It was a blue collar type neighborhood.
This is perhaps why I do not know why people who become rich continue to want to make more money. Why get richer when one could be spending time with family, working on hobbies, or traveling? Is it greed? If I were rich, I would do the above items after selling whatever made me rich, because the accumulation of more money would seem like a moot endeavor. In fact, if I had extra money, I think I would just give it away to friends and family. Why keep it? You can not take money with you when you die.
So, if anyone has some answers for me, I would like to thank you for your impute.

A very nice meek depressed man left his not so nice wife after 15 years of marriage. He married her because he wanted to give her a better life because her “trailer white trash roots”. She lived with poor me syndrome, binges without health concerns, double-standards, no friends, no families, no hobbies who desperately became pregnant (without his knowledge) fear of being on her own. A child didn’t save their marriage. He feels guilty for leaving and promises her that no matter what she is member of the family, she is never pushed out in the cold. A year later he met a new woman, he hopes the new girl will accept his prior arrangement with the old girl still hangs around but in reality the new girl is not accepting. He has a hard times reversing his promises to his old girl because he feels sorry for her. He says the new girl is his love and priority but he feels bad pushing the old girl out.
What would you do if you were in my situation of a new girl? Help! I love him but…

My women friends are always complaining about the crappy guys they date. “John is so inconsiderate…” “Dave just never listens…” “This is the second time I have caught Kevin cheating on me…” I’m getting tired of giving advice…over and over and over… For the love of God!!! Why don’t they get it? You can’t change people!!!!
Some behaviors are modifiable with some training. Peeing on the toilet seat or the wall…totally modifiable. Putting the toothpaste cap back on the tube…totally modifiable. Cussing…totally modifiable. Hobbies…NOT MODIFIABLE. Cheating…NOT MODIFIABLE. Abusing…NOT MODIFIABLE. Womanizing…NOT MODIFIABLE. Daily routines (sleeping in/going to bed late, watching Sunday sports with friends, etc.)…probably NOT MODIFIABLE.
Why don’t many women get this?

No, he isn’t. Please…learn to live with your situation, or do something about it and find a better guy.

my ex wife and i got divorced for this reason, she felt that i needed to stop playing video games, playing sports with the guys, driving muscle cars, working on cars at all hours of the night, ect!!!!!!!!1
i never told her she needed to do this or that, i never cared if she had a hobby or activity that she like to do!
she just told me that i needed to grow up, we had no kids, and i have a great job with better pay and bennys

My husband like loves his care and he has a body kit on it and rims and new tires and flip down screens and flip out screen and a ps2slim in the flove compartment….why do men get into fixing up their cars so much? I know it’s a hobby and it makes your car look cool, but isnt it a waste of your money for too much extra stuff?
For the record my husband does spend money and me and he gives me everything i want but i was just wondering from a mans point of view.

Lets say you’ve had a bad experience with most hobbies and activities you’ve tried. Why would you voluntarily try it again when you didn’t like it the first time. Is it possible, if so then how? It seems like it would human nature to avoid such things as long as practically possible.
I know that there could be outside pressures to do something, but is it possible for a person to bring it upon him or herself to try something that is negative again?
