What would some good hobbies be for a 24 year old single mother of 2 boys ages 7 and 3?

10 May

They can be things to do with the kids or by herself.

Thanks,

    Scrapbooking

Gardening (believe it or not — so long as you talk worms — not flower petals!)

Hiking — my boys love hiking especially when we talk about birds and wildlife in general. You could try camping too

Bike riding is another great one. Haven’t met a boy of any age yet who doesn’t like to ride a bike or be on the back of one in those kid seats or trailers.

disc golf! And make them chase after the mulligans, that way they’re tired for bed!

scrap booking (there’s some cheap dig cameras these days)
    ^ photo journaling
“here’s a cool thing I saw today” “my best food today was_______” “today I learned ______________ in pre/school” “today I’m thankful for _____________” etc etc

Sounds like she wouldn’t have much time to pick up a hobby, let alone some time to herself. It’s important to be and stay involved with her boys.

Geocaching. They have fun going on treasure hunts. They can pretend they are pirates or Indiana Jones. It will get you out of the house and explore the world around you. Lots of fun for all. All you need is a hand held GPS receiver.

PS. Fun for dates too! At least with someone you feel safe with.

Crochet (easy, and you make blankets)
Scrapbooking (perfect for using up all those loose photos you have lying around if your house is like mine)
Photography (can never have too many photos of them)
Writing (Serious writing or just fanfiction, or whatever else)
    Painting
Gardening (helps save on groceries if you do veggies)

My favorite is learning to do balloon animals. I learned from a book and it is not hard, but fun.
